Anxiety is a feeling of fear or nervousness that just won’t go away—even when there’s no seemingly logical reason to feel this way.
We will support you through your anxiety, and work with you to find the underlying cause. Using talk therapy, we can work out why you’re feeling this way, what triggers you, and formulate strategies to cope.
Depression is a persistent feeling of sadness or loss—and it can have huge impacts on our lives, affecting sleep, appetite, daily routines, work, relationships and self-esteem. There are many different kinds of depression (including post-natal depression), which can stem from both physical and mental stressors. It can be an incredibly debilitating thing to experience—but you don’t have to walk this path alone.
We can help you hold the hope, and shine a light in your darkest hour. We care about you: and we’ll give you all the support and strategies you need to work through your demons, and put you back in control
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is when the mind has repetitive, often unwanted thoughts, usually causing the body to do certain actions.
The first step to managing OCD is to understand where these thoughts, fears and obsessions come from. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), we can help you find answers and systematically work through—and reduce—obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours.
Grief is a physical and mental response to loss. Sometimes, it’s because we lose someone we love. Sometimes, it’s because we grieve things we can never have or experience again. It’s an intense, all-encompassing feeling, and can have huge impacts on our lives.
We can help support you irrespective of where you are at grieving. We will help you work through these emotions with compassion, sensitivity and understanding—and find a path forward.
Self-esteem is the way we see ourselves, and our value and worth. When our self-esteem is low, it can feel pretty disheartening and lonely. Pinning down where our self-esteem issues come from can be tough. Some are deeply ingrained beliefs, often from childhood or adolescence, while others are due to recent issues in our daily lives.
As your counsellors, we want to lift you up. Often a little hands-on homework, with small, achievable tasks that support you to feel whole again.
Moving to another country can be a challenging thing. There’re often many changes—particularly on a cultural level. Transitional stress can be overwhelming . You might be feeling anxious, lonely or homesick.
Both of our experienced mental health counsellors have experienced transitional stress, and know exactly what it’s like to move to a different country, where nothing is familiar. We can give you guidance and strategies on transitioning to Australia.
